Our History

On Time Delivery has been in business since 1979, holding contracts with national and regional shippers. By structuring our service around the specific needs of the shipper, we have been able to overcome the Delivery Consistency problems that the shipper encounters when dealing with the general purpose carrier. We deliver your product when You want it there.

We operate out of 2 strategically placed delivery facilities across Pennsylvania. All facilities have dock and drive-in capabilities and extensive conveyor systems. This allows us to receive loose loaded freight from multiple sources and efficiently sort the product into the appropriate routes. Our multiple locations allow us to simultaneously dispatch up to 100 routes per day and make over 700,000 deliveries per year.

Our fees for multiple package deliveries are generally 20%-60% less than General Carrier rates.

We have established strong, partnership relationships with our current shippers and were recognized by Avon Products Inc as their National Carrier of the Year 5 years in a row.

Fred Costanzo, a driver for Pittsburgh Cut Flower, a floral wholesale company in Pittsburgh Pa, saw an opportunity to start a delivery company to service the 5 floral wholesale companies in Pittsburgh. He signed contracts with the 5 companies and Fred’s Delivery Service was born as a sole proprietorship which at its peak ran 13 step vans servicing Western PA and Northern West Virginia.

Toni was supplementing the family income as an Avon lady, and they saw an opportunity to grow the company by taking over the Avon delivery contract in Pittsburgh, making residential deliveries to over 1,000 homes each week in the Pittsburgh area. They spun off a separate company and called it CTJ Transfer INC, after Chris (their son) Toni and Jim.

CTJ Transfer went through a name change to On Time Delivery INC (OTD) to more accurately describe the business, which had grown into 4 locations in Pennsylvania and a Chicago IL terminal. Also during this time Chris Jenkins joined the company and began to expand the customer base. By the end of this period OTD was delivering for Avon, Amway and several pharmaceutical wholesalers into PA, WV, OH, IL and IN, running as many as 60 routes per day with cargo vans and step vans.

OTD made its next expansion into LTL deliveries with a contract with Parcel Direct, delivering pallets of parcels to US Post Offices in the Pittsburgh area.  OTD started running 9 routes per week, delivering to 30 DDUs. This was our first expansion into trucks larger than step vans, and rapidly became a large portion of our business.

Chris Jenkins became the president of OTD and continued to expand both with existing and new customers.   This included broadening our customer base further to include commercial LTL deliveries and new pharmaceutical customer. We also started wine and spirits delivery division servicing distributors with weekly deliveries to their customers.
